Ian Sinclair completed his formal studies and training in the UK prior to immigrating to Canada in 1997. He holds a Masters Degree in Engineering and Management (MEng&Man) with Honours from the University of Birmingham. Ian combined his studies with professional training with the Ford Motor Company.
Ian’s career has focused on sustainability within the built environment, designing, managing and implementing retrofit projects in Canada and internationally with a focus on energy and greenhouse gas reductions. Clients have included government, educational, multi-residential and commercial/industrial building owners including Parks Canada Banff, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the University of Toronto, GWL Realty and the Regional Municipality of York. He has recently worked for the City of Beijing in completing energy assessments of government facilities ahead of the Beijing Olympics and has worked with Scotiabank in the Dominican Republic. Ian has also worked in other diverse fields including mining and teaching, including a two year posting as a Physics teacher with the Ministry of Education in Kenya. Ian is fluent in French with good knowledge of Spanish and ki-Swahili.
Ian is a Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario (P.Eng.), a certified European Engineer (CEng, EurIng) and a LEED Accredited Professional (LEEDAP).
Ian’s work for Mondial is to oversee technically the design, installation and commissioning of renewable energy projects. He will work on the behalf of Mondial and Clients to ensure that energy systems are technically and economically viable and that they are installed to ensure maximum long term benefit to the client.
