My name is Elaine Ho, and I am a senior student at William Lyon Mackenzie C.I.  My colleague, David Godri, has been in correspondence with you recently regarding solar panels on our school property and we would like to reconnect with you at our celebratory launch with Dr. David Suzuki and Steven Page of the Barenaked Ladies.

SWITCH, the student-run non-profit organization based in William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate Institute, aims to generate renewable energy for our school and, eventually, throughout the Toronto District School Board. In doing so, the TDSB is on the verge of becoming the first school board in the Canada to use an alternative source of energy to relieve our immense strain on the conventional power grid. We plan to use this project to enhance the curriculum in the departments of math, science, social science, and business, among others.

We would like to extend you an invitation to our first major event on April 17, 2007.  At this time Dr. David Suzuki and Mr. Steven Page will be addressing the crowd of 750 environmentally active Toronto youth, media, and SWITCH supporters.  The event will be held at our school in the afternoon, commencing at 1:30 pm.  If you are interested in attending the event or have any questions, please feel free to email me.
